Let me be the last one to announce the beginning of summer in New Orleans. It is now officially hot and humid. We had months of amazing weather. One of the longest springs that I ever remember having in New Orleans. Of course weather is not the only indication of summer. Tulane and Loyola just had their graduations. A big congratulations to all of the Middlebury graduates, wherever across the country they may now be!

Back to me and my oh-so-important world. The days are hot and wet. I don’t mind the humidity and the heat, in some ways it feels nice. You just need a cold drink to really enjoy being outside. I could do without swarming termites. Luckily they don’t bother me and my apartment very much.

So we went to go see Kicking and Screaming. It was okay. And because we’re a little lame, we’re watching more Will Farrell on SNL. But the funniest thing the whole night was a trailer. First you just need to imagine a story line for a movie entitled “The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl in 3-D.” Congratulations, your story is much better than the one they’re making. So, you really need to take a few minutes out of your life and watch this trailer.

Wait, I have the answer for why this movie is being released. The director, of Spy Kids ‘fame’, made this film because his seven-year-old kid wrote the story. Is he biased? Nope it’s just the most amazing, intelligent, and heart-felt story of this year. The kind of movie that makes you wonder, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Or not. David Arquette and Kristin Davis what were you thinking?

So I ordered something from buy.com because they were kind enough to offer me a $30 coupon. It should be here now because they said that it was in stock. Just a short entry for me. I went for a short run this morning and that makes me happy!

I have so many things to say and I keep putting off posts because I wanted to post things about the past and I don’t want to post the present until the past has been documented. That apparently stops today. I think that the only Jazz Fest commentary you will get is from the pictures that I still haven’t uploaded to my flickr account. It will happen soon.
