Buy.com Sucks
So I ordered something from buy.com because they were kind enough to offer me a $30 coupon. It should be here now because they said that it was in stock. When it didn’t ship, I checked their website and the item had become unavailable. So I wrote into customer support and this is what they wrote back.
We are writing to inform you that our manufacturer recently informed us that due to overwhelming demand this item suddenly went on backorder and they are facing difficulty in fulfilling the demand. We request you to cancel this order and place a fresh order for this item, once we have this item in stock. We update our website once every 24 hours. You can periodically check our website and place a new order, when we get this item in stock.
They want me to do all of that work because they made a mistake. I wrote a fairly mean letter back to them. This is hardly ‘customer service’. If they can’t fix this, I will definitely never buy anything of consequence from them again. I don’t care if they will save me 5 bucks. This crap is not worth it.

Man, that DOES suck. I have ordered several things from them (digital camera, SD card, and I think something else, too) and never had a problem! *sniff*
